Barbados Gets Zagat Nod
Barbados claims to have the best dining in the Caribbean, and the publishers of the Zagat guides seem to agree: Zagat has released a guide to Barbados, it's only such publication in the Caribbean and one of only about two dozen countries surveyed by Zagat readers and editors.
The 2007 Zagat Best of Barbados Guide includes reviews of 169 restaurants, bars, nightclubs, golf courses, and other attractions. The reviews and ratings in the guide are based on feedback from about 1,500 Barbados residents and frequent visitors.
"Barbados is a breathtaking island and one of the best places in the world to kick back and relax, but it's also full of top-notch restaurants, exciting nightclubs, and world-class golf courses," said Tim Zagat, CEO of Zagat Survey. "To find the best the island has to offer, what better resource could one ask for than a guide written by nearly 1,500 aficionados who know the area best?"
Restaurants topping the Zagat ratings for Barbados include The Cliff, Champers Wine Bar, Restaurant at Southsea, and The Tides.
