caribbean_logo.gifCaribbean vacations in a suite or villa are the ultimate vacation.  Now there are a fresh crop of luxurious accomodations opening throughout the Caribbean: Marigot Bay, St. Lucia; Eden Rock, St. Barths; Grace Bay Club, Turks & Caicos; Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI.

Marigot Bay, St. Lucia - opens August 1, 2006 with 57 suites (30 with private plunge pool) and 67 luxury rooms.  The resort also has a "tree house" which can be used for weddings or small, very discreet dinner parties.  Guest rooms are equipped with large bathrooms with dual basins, walk-in showers and bidets, flatscreen TV's and Wi-Fi access.  Suites have kitchens with espresso machines and a washer & dryer, and Bose surround-sound music systems with MP3 input capability.  Lapil Spa has private decks and open-air showers, as well as outdoor cabanas in the Zen gardens.

Eden Rock, St. Barths - the newly re-opened Eden Rock has a new "Howard Hughes Loft Suite" with three terraces.  The romantic "Greta Garbo Suite" has a wraparound terrace and "Frangipani", a three-bedroom house and a private swimming pool.  "Waterlily" is a two-level, one-bedroom suite with a private infinity pool.  Of note, St. Barths' airport allows for helicopter landings; private jets must land at St. Maarten.

Grace Bay Club, Turks & Caicos - Grace Bay Club in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, has opened 28 suites and four penthouses.  The one- to four-bedroom accommodations occupy villas in four five-story buildings.  All suites have ocean views and balconies spanning nearly 50', open kitchens, 42" plasma TVs and double vanities in the bathrooms. While suites don't connect to each other, a group may take a floor of a building.

Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI - Caneel Bay has remodeled its Cottage #7.  The five-room beachfront bungalow has refinished terrazzo floors, new furnishings, linens, window treatments and outdoor furniture for each of its private patios.  A butler arranges dining and other activities outside the resort.
