Cayman Islands - Sir Turtle's Sea School - Free Program for Children

Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 09:08PM

cayman_seaturtleschool.jpgIn the western Caribbean, there’s a trio of tiny islands that’s an ideal destination for last-minute summer family getaways. Through mid-September, the Cayman Islands offers money-saving programs that kids and parents alike will enjoy, such as the free and fun Cayman Islands’ Sir Turtle’s Sea School program and the budget-conscious Cayman Summer Splash travel package (see separate blog entry on Cayman Summer Splash).

Kids will be dying to spend their summer vacation in “summer school” when they hear about the Sir Turtle’s Sea School program, where children ages 5-11 (and their parents) learn about marine life, historic shipwrecks and Caymanian heritage—on location.  And parents will love the price: FREE!

Sir Turtle’s Sea School provides the perfect balance of learning and entertainment.  Parents will accompany their children to “school,” where they will be greeted by the teacher, Cayman’s mascot Sir Turtle, and learn about Caymanian culture and folklore, marine ecology and sea life, as well as participate in hands-on activities including arts and crafts projects, treasure hunts and interactive storytelling.

Through September 4, 2006, Sir Turtle’s Sea School takes place at Boatswain's Beach every Friday from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
