The 65-bungalow Sofitel Bora Bora Beach Resort has reopened following a $15 million renovation that included work on bungalows and public areas, as well as the addition of 13 overwater bungalows, an infinity-edge pool, a restaurant and a bar.  A spa and beauty center will open late this year at the property, formerly known as the Sofitel Marara Bora Bora, to provide massage and beauty treatments.  This refurbishment is part of Accor's program of upgrading all of its Sofitel properties in French Polynesia; it follows an $18 million renovation of the 218-room Sofitel Tahiti Resort, formerly known as the Sofitel Maeva Beach.  Also in the works is a multimillion-dollar upgrade of the Sofitel Moorea Beach Resort; the property is scheduled to reopen in November with 111 bungalows, including 19 new overwater bungalows.  It also will have a new restaurant, spa and meeting space.
