Well, I can tell you ... it was cool enough in daylight ... but to visit Mystic Mountain's Jamaican bobsled ride & zipline at night?  Very cool ... and a first "nighttime" attraction for Jamaica, definitely for Ocho Rios.  (Read my earlier blog post on my visit to Mystic Mountain in January.)

How cool to ride the Sky Explorer up the mountain, then hang out 700' above sea level and look at the beautiful view of Ocho Rios at night from the lookout area ... and of course toast with a Red Stripe (or Cocomania rum) with a bite to eat in the restaurant ... what a view.  I hear the zipliners will have helmets with lights, and all the platforms will be ringed with torches.  I've been in ziplines in Jamaica, St. Lucia & Costa Rica, but a nighttime one would be a first.  Next time I'm in Ocho Rios, I'm there.

One of the things that impresses me most about the folks at Mystic Mountain is their commitment to not disturbing the natural resources & environment of Jamaica yet still providing a top-notch, professional, clean experience.  Their commitment started from construction up to this day.  Check ouit details at www.rainforestbobsledjamaica.com.  

Mystic Mountain produces its own electrical power, using generators and battery storage/inverter system to cut fuel consumption, carbon-emissions and extend the life of its equipment.  In keeping with Mystic Mountain’s commitment to the environment and five-year goal of 100 percent self-sustainability, the company will install commercial wind generators and photovoltaic solar panels over the next few years to compliment the existing energy generation system.  (Even the bathrooms are environmentally friendly ... check 'em out).  

If you're heading to the Ocho Rios area of Jamaica, please be sure to patronize Mystic Mountain and give them a "high five" for caring!  In these days of "let's make a buck" and destroying the natural beauty of the islands in the name of tourism, I commend Mystic Mountain for being there.
